Walking Iris - Digi Doodles

Again finally I appear.  It's my sister's 70th birthday today and for the past couple of weeks I have been busy making her a 40 page memory/scrapbook. Looking at her face last night it was well worth the effort, but apologies to anyone I might have missed this week, I did manage to comment on a few posts, but by Tuesday I was getting to be frantic to get it finished. Of course that was the day my printer decided to put lines all over the printouts. It took 5 sheets before I realised it was happening. I had to go shooting off to buy more inks.

Can I say welcome to my 4 new followers, sorry you haven't had much to look at recently, but I should be back in the swing of it again. I have a few new Spellbinders I am dying to play with.

Today's card is the one I made for my sister. She doesn't like 'cutsie' images so it took a while to decide on this one. It's the gorgeous Walking Iris from Digi Doodles. Such a shame that they have decided to give up their shop, but huge bargains are on offer atm with all images reduced to $1 each.

She is cut with SB grand ovals and framed with grand decorative ovals. My border and corners are lattice accents and the backing sheet is one of the new A4 M-bossabilities garden lattice. All pink card stock is Bazzill basics. My sentiment is computer generated and cut with a SB ribbon banner.

She is coloured as always with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Prisma pencils, and the sky was created with distress ink. I added some Sakura pens to the irises and the buckle on her belt but it doesn't show in the pictures.

The flowers are from WOC and the leaves are a Cheery Lynn die. Pearl ribbon and pearls from my stash.

I hadn't added the insert when I took the photo's.

I am entering the following challenges :-

Thank you so much for looking and I will get caught up with my commenting :)

Oh, so elegant, Eileen! She had to love it! What a beautiful design and gorgeous coloring. I was wondering if you were away in Egypt already. A 40 page scrapbook would take up every waking moment, that's for certain. Do not worry about what you missed, that's too much pressure!

Hiya Kidda, missed you this week, but I will let you off after reading about your frantic efforts, bet they were worth it though. I am making a scrapbook for my Goddaughter, I started it when she was born and plan to give it to her on her eighteenth borthday, she turned eight this year so still got a ways to go but I get to follow her growing up like I never got the chance to do with my own son which is such a shame. I can't wait to see her face when she gets it but there will be a part of me that will not want to give it away because it's like my record of her life too!
On a better note, my new pills seem to be working and I feel quite a bit better this week and even wanted to go back to work a couple of days ago (it soon passed though!!), I hope to be back to work in the next couple of weeks anyway so will take the time to make sure I am properly ready to go back to work. Hope you are well and will look forward to hearing from you when you have some time on your hands.
Take Care and hugs 'n stuff

Hiya, me again. The tree looks tealy because of the way I manipulated it in photoshop! Didn't quite get the colours right but it should be a dark(ish) green, still, I appreciate your honesty, thank you.
As for the scrapbook, I used a plain sheet of 12x12 Bazil and took it from there. I have made every page by hand but have just recently started using serif and would love to make a real coffee table book for myself one day but it would probably cost well over £100 so you really have to save, but imagine how special that would be - a one-off hard backed coffee-table book of your very own, filled with beautiful family pictures and little stories to go along with them, something for posterity there.
Take Care
