Are You Ready My Friend - The Paper Shelter

Good morning everyone and welcome to my 2 new followers. I'm back from my Egyptian holiday, unfortunately my suitcase isn't yet :).  Hopefully it will arrive today.  I don't know why I go on foreign holidays as it always takes me a week to recover and yet again I have left my mojo behind somewhere.  Don't know why I am moaning as it was a great holiday really, but still way too hot.

I have been looking at the devastation in America at this time and hope none of you or your friends and family have been caught up in this tragedy.

I feel as if I have cheated a little with today's card as I have used one of the fab Paper Shelter pre coloured images 'Are You Ready My Friend'. Great to use if you need a card in a hurry or are lacking your own inspiration. This is one of their new gorgeous Christmas images. Sorry about the quality of the picture, my good camera is still in my suitcase.

The great thing about these images is that they come with or without the pre-coloured background.  I did decoupage a couple of layers to give a little more depth and mounted onto a couple of layers of Bazzill basics with some gold peal off edges for a little more sparkle.  I added WOC corners and poinsettia flower.

Glamour dust and white flower soft for his beard and the snow and red glitter again for more lift. Gems and leaves from my stash.

The Paper Shelter also provides great inserts to match the front of the card.

Our challenge this week #88 is Anything Goes so I hope you enter.  The amazing prize as always is $30 to spend in the shop if you use a TPS image and 3 digi's of your choice with any other image.

I hope you pop over and see the fab cards the other DT members have produced.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and I promise to get around the blogs today to catch up on what you have all been creating.

Carol Singing Cat - Pink Gem Designs

Hello again from hopefully a hot and sunny Egypt. If this is scheduled correctly I am more than half way through my holiday :(

My card today features 'Carol singing Cat' an image by Pink Gem Designs who are sponsor this week at Passion for Promarkers challenge 'Pets'.
She is cut with an SB Grand Oval with a Grand decorative oval backing her. The backing paper is one I made using Craft Artist 2 Pro. Border strip is a MS punch, SB poinsettia flower and Whimsy corner. Sentiment is from LOTV. Gems from my stash.

She is of course coloured with Promarkers and I added glamour dust around her and to the border and corner.

I added Stormy Sky distress ink around her and Flowersoft polar white to the snow she is standing on. On the flower I used Picket Fence DI and added a little glamour dust.

The inside reflects the front.

I do hope you will check out the other DT members inspirational cards and enter to win 4 digital images of your choice from Pink Gem Designs.  But of course you do have to use Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Aquamarkers to enter.

Warm in the Winter - The Paper Shelter

Good morning everyone. If this has scheduled correctly you should be seeing it on Wednesday morning.  Think I will probably starting my day, after breakfast, with coffee and brandy at the pool side bar :) Hope the weather back in the UK isn't being too unkind to you.

My card today is for the latest Paper Shelter challenge 'Charming/Use a charm). I have used the gorgeous 'Warm in the Winter' image. I think she has such a lovely expression. Is she rescuing that poor little cat from the snow?

She is cut using SB labels 1 matted onto decorative labels one cut from gold mirror board. My backing paper is from WOC. Frosty border and corner from Memory Box. Ribbon charm and gems from my stash.

She is coloured as always with Promarkers (I will start adding the colours I used after my hols). I added loads of Glamour dust to the corner and border and to the tree. I also added Flowersoft  polar white to the top of the log.

The inside reflects the front.

I hope you join in with The Paper Shelter challenge this week where the generous Veronica and Pedro offer $30 worth of goodies for the winner if you use a TPS image or 3 digi's of your choice for any other image.  Please check out the other fab cards the DT have created for your inspiration.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog

Times to Treasure - LOTV

Good morning everyone and welcome to my two new followers, thank you both for taking the time to view my blog.
I am starting to get excited here........... off to Egypt on Tuesday morning for 10 days of sun, sea, sand and................................ snorkling :)
We're going back to the fab hotel we stayed at in May (Sunrise Holiday Village - Hurghada) it was so good we wanted to stay there again. In May we did the cruise and stay so were only at the hotel for a week. This is going to be a real chill out holiday. We had hoped to spend a couple of days in Cairo to see the Sphinx and go to the museum but it's so politically unsettled we are giving that a miss.
I will have a couple of post's appearing while I am gone for DT challenges but I apologise now for not commenting on the beautiful creations you make while I am away.
On to today's card which was made for a friend at work to give to his niece, fortunately he loved it, hope she does to.  It's one of my original LOTV stamps 'Times to Treasure' and it's always been a favourite of mine.

It is cut using SB squares, and heart squares, and banner. Flowers from WOC. Leaves are a MS punch and ribbon, lace and gems from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated.

They are coloured with Promarkers (must start writing down which one I use) and I added the clouds with stormy sky distress ink applied with ink dusters.

The inside reflected the front.

When I was asked to make this card I smiled as I thought oooooo I have an inked topper ready to go that I can use :)
Thought you might like to see how much my colouring skills have changed in the past 6 months, or have they?

Can't believe how flat and wishy washy this one looks and at the time I thought it was good :)

I am entering the following challenges:-

Thank you all for taking the time to look at my card. Hope you all have a great weekend and that the weather is kind to you over the next 2 weeks as I soak up the sunshine :)

Winter Sophie - Digistamp Boutique

Good morning everyone  and thank you all for the lovely comments you have left for me.
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Passion for Promarkers 'Shabby in Pink or Blue' and it is sponsored by the Digistamp Boutique.

My card features one of our sponsors images 'Winter Sophie'. Isn't she cute and all wrapped up for winter. Love the little robin following her.  Distressing and shabby isn't something I normally attempt so hope my card fits the challenge. Sorry the photography is a little wonky.

She is cut and mounted onto card with a MS punch around the page border. Matted onto cordinations and all edges are distressed and inked with Tim Holts DI.  The holly border is a Spellbinders as is the poinsettia. The frosty corner is a MB. Mesh, lace and gems from my stash.  The sentiment is from LOTV.

She is coloured of course with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and a little Prisma pencil.  I used the snowflakes from the border to add more glitz and covered them with Glamour Dust. I also added some to the printed snowflakes.  She is standing on Pinflair Ice Crystals.

I decorated the inside to reflect the front.

I hope you will join in with our challenge this week and have a chance to win the great prize.

DigiStamp Boutique are offering 6 digi images to one lucky winner.

In the 20's - The Paper Shelter

Good morning everyone. Sorry I have been missing for a few days but I had some commissioned cards to make for work colleagues.
My card today is for the new The Paper Shelter challenge #84 Distressing. I have used the super cute 'In the 20's' for my card. I don't know if it's with being a nurse but I find it really difficult to distress something that looks fine without it. Believe it or not there is lots of distressing on this card, but I think it ended up being a little shabby chic.

She is cut using SB labels 25 with a faux nestie behind her. My base layer is Cordinations craft core and I did use a Tim Holts distressing tool on nearly everything.  My backing paper is one that has been in my stash for a couple of years. Flowers from WOC and leaves and butterflies are MS punches. Ribbon from Mei Flower and pearls and lace from a local craft shop.  I actually remembered to get out the sewing machine to add stitched edges.

She is coloured with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Prisma pencils. I added antique linen DI around her and to the leaves butterflies and backing paper.

The inside is fairly simple and reflects the front

I am entering the following challenges :-
Robyns Fetish challenge # 127 - Sewing, real or faux
Crafty Anns challenge # 75 - Inspired by a film title (Thoroughly Modern Millie)

Don't forget that the generous Veronica and Pedro at TPS offer a great prize every week for the luck winner of the challenge of $30 if you use a TPS image and 3 images of your choice with any other images.

I hope you pop over and view the fab cards the other DT girls have created and of course enter the challenge.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog
